Our junior hockey programme is only possible because of the incredible support of our members, volunteers, and local community. Unlike most hockey clubs in London that charge high membership fees, Wapping Kidds operates as a registered charity, allowing us to combine donations, grants, and corporate matching schemes to provide high-quality coaching, equipment, facilities, and opportunities for every child, regardless of their financial circumstances.

Over the past 10 years, the dedication and hard work of our volunteers has built Wapping Kidds into the club we are today. We have created something special for young players and families, and we want to make the most of the opportunities that our charitable status now provides.

Our sessions operate on a donation basis. Junior hockey memberships at other clubs are priced at around £300+ per year. Rather than adopting that paid membership model, we ask families who are able to make an annual membership donation to do so.

Donating through our charity also allows us to maximise the impact of your support. Eligible donations can be increased by 25% through Gift Aid at no extra cost to you, and many employers offer corporate matched giving schemes, potentially doubling/tripling the value of your contribution.

Your generosity helps us provide facilities, invest in coaching, replace equipment, support volunteers, and ensure every young player has the opportunity to enjoy hockey, develop their skills, and be part of our club.

If we do not receive enough donations, we may need to move back to a paid membership structure, meaning we would lose access to the additional funding that sponsorship, grants, Gift Aid and corporate matching can provide.

Everyone who is able to donate makes a real difference. At the same time, we want to be clear that donations are entirely voluntary, and every child at Wapping Kidds has access to the same coaching, teams, tournaments, equipment and opportunities, regardless of whether their family makes a donation.

Together we can build on the incredible work of the last 10 years and secure the future of junior hockey for many years to come

Please notify our treasurer if you:  

  • want to cancel your declaration  

  • change your name or home address  

  • no longer pay sufficient tax on your income and/or capital gains 

If you pay Income Tax at the higher or additional rate and want to receive the additional tax relief due to you, you must include all your Gift Aid donations on your Self-Assessment tax return or ask HM Revenue and Customs to adjust your tax code.

Wapping Kidds is a registered Charitable Incorporated Organisation (CIO) in England and Wales (Charity No. 1217759).

This donation page is hosted on the Wapping Hockey Club website as part of the clubs’ support for Wapping Kidds and its charitable activities. Donations are processed through Wapping Hockey Club’s payment system; however, all Wapping Kidds donations are clearly identified and kept separate from other payments made through the platform.

All funds donated through this page are transferred directly to Wapping Kidds’ charity account and are used solely to support the aims and activities of Wapping Kidds.
